Abbott Farm School Tours 2010
Abbott Farms School Tours are 1 ½ hours long and cost $8.00 per person. This includes a wagon ride, a mini-pumpkin, and kiddy apple bag . We subtract the tour fee for 1 adult chaperone per each 6 children; ask about arrangements for special needs kids. We expect designated chaperones to stay with the children, help them pick, clean up trash, help with hygiene, and attend closely to our tour guides. Other adult visitors might have a few moments free to visit the country store.
Fall tours with deposit paid by September 1 receive a $1 discount per person. Fall tours booked for September dates can receive another $1 discount. You don't have to know the exact size of your class to start the booking process, so please plan ahead and call early.
Most of the tour is a wagon ride around to the orchard to the pumpkin patch. We may walk to the animals at Abbott's Ark, the potato barn, or the cider press. Please come dressed for a farm; wear sturdy shoes, a warm jackets, and clothes that can get dirty. We give tours rain or shine. Normal start times are 9:30 am, 11:00 am, and 1:00 pm most weekdays.
We make our own cider on-site in an observable pressing room. Cider is available in gallons ($4.75 each) and reusable, apple-shaped 8-oz. Sippers ($1.50 each). You're welcome to bring a lunch. If you do, you must reserve the party barn, greenhouse, or outdoor picnic tables for an extra fee. If you leave trash on-site, you will have to sort it: food waste only, metal & glass, and other (with all liquids poured out). Our country store is open during tours for shopping, baked goods, ice cream, bulk foods, and beverages.

Abbotts' Farm
By Bethani McCarthy
Abbott's Farm is lots of fun.
You can run and play in the sun.
When you look out at the field,
You will see a plow,
Then go see a little cow.
You can say "Hi" to everyone that passes,
Then make fun of my Grandpa's glasses.
At Abbotts' there is no way you'll be sad.
When the day is done,
You can tell your mom
How much fun you had.
Your tour guide here is definitely Jim,
And he'll be sure to tell you
To watch out for the tree limb.
I know it feels like we just said "Hi,"
But now it's time to say "Good-bye."
No, just kidding, we have much more time,
And I hope you enjoy this little Rhyme! |
